Put the “I” in Me

Aspiring Unity minister Beki Howlett shares a punny poem on the metaphysical interpretation of the Trinity: Mind, Idea, Expression (MIE). Inferring a play on words, this ultimately inspired "Put the I in Me" as a helpful mnemonic.

Do you know the meaning of Life?

It seems like a game, indeed like a riddle.

I AM here as your guide, neigh a charlatan trickster!

Discern your own truth as only you can,

I AM a powerful Spirit, not only a man.

Here is the riddle, simpler than most,

Are you even half-baked as a heavenly host?:

"To be immortal, you can be,

If only you put the 'I' in me."

But how can there be an I in me?

They are the same, like the wave to the sea.

Begin with the end in (Divine) Mind.

The presence of God is here, now.

And I AM that, don't have a cow.

...Mind...

A spark, a whisper, a holy hush—

Inspiration bubbles forth in a sacred rush.

...Idea...

The physical form begins to flow...

Now is the time to give it a go!

...Expression...

So here it is, the "big mystery"—

Life unfolds as One in three.

So when you search for the inner key,

Remember to put the "I" in me.

By fully embodying all elements of the metaphysical Trinity—Mind, Idea, Expression—we can consciously tap into God, Source, Spirit, our Higher Self, etc. The answer always lies within, so don't forget to put the I in me!
